On Thursday, November 21, P. Agnes was recognized for two projects at the 2019 GBCA Construction Excellence Awards. The gala was held at Vie by Cescaphe in Philadelphia, and was hosted by 6abc’s Gina Gannon.

The first project, the Virtua Health Samson Cancer Center, won the award for Best Adaptive Re-Use Project. This project featured the construction of a 48,000 square foot cancer center in the former site of an Acme supermarket. P. Agnes performed a complete gut/fit-out of the existing space, installed new HVAC and electric infrastructure, and implemented extensive new underground sanitary systems to accommodate the environmental and technological demands of the new cancer center. FCA was the architect on this project.

The second project, the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House Chestnut Street Expansion, won the award for Best Hospitality Project. The project included a 93,000 square-foot tower that houses 88 bedrooms consisting of 80 new family bedrooms and 8 protected patient bedroom suites. A welcome center and reception area to greet families as well as a newly constructed first floor kitchen for guest chefs and families to use was also added, seating 200 people. EwingCole was the architect on this project.
