The current South Philadelphia location has been used as the flagship for all future Chickie’s & Pete’s restaurants, however what is not known was that the original facility was an abandoned grocery store. P. Agnes was contracted as the construction manager and Partridge Architects was retained as the designer. All of the mechanical, plumbing and electrical work was performed on a design build basis. Multiple visits to the Robbins Avenue location, which was the original restaurant, and the Roosevelt Boulevard location were made to ensure that visions of the owner, Pete Ciarrocchi, were captured and maintained at the new facility just on a more of a grand scale. Multiple mock-ups of stain finishes, exposed spiral ductwork, and bar layouts were performed so that when you entered the restaurant you are struck by shock and awe of what was once a supermarket is now a restaurant/sports bar with a slight nautical theme including televisions on every wall so that not one sports event is missed being watched.
