Food Service Renovations

This project featured renovations to the food operations within the centrally located University Center, the hub of student life at Widener University. The existing food court on the first floor was demolished and replaced with a Moe’s Southwest Grill which includes a commercial kitchen with all new equipment, finishes, lighting, and roof top equipment. In addition, two remote kitchens featuring Auntie Anne’s Pretzels and Cinnabon, and a grab-and-go breakfast option were added. Food lockers were also added, and enable people to conveniently pick up their food orders.

The existing mailbox area located on the lower level was renovated into a pod self service market, allowing the University to provide ready-made sandwiches, salads, convenience store essentials, and more. The pod will operate 24/7, and is cashier-less via a self-checkout kiosk.
