This project transformed the building located at 2309 N. Broad Street into a state-of-the-art facility that now serves as the new home for the YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School. This updated facility supports YouthBuild’s growth and enhances its overall curriculum. It features 16 classrooms, more than 30 offices, and a double-height multipurpose area of 2,000 square feet for faculty and students to gather.

YouthBuild aims to provide former high school dropouts with a second chance to reclaim their education, receive job training, and engage in community service. Over the past two decades, the program has expanded from a single classroom to become one of the largest YouthBuild programs in the United States. The adaptive reuse of this historic building transformed a neglected piece of the city’s architectural history into a vibrant, uplifting space that fosters education and community for Philadelphia students.
